Kakuma Blogging is a refugee-led digital platform empowering the Kakuma Refugee Camp community through storytelling, information sharing, and connection. We are a digital platform  dedicated to amplifying refugee voices, bridging information gaps, and creating economic opportunities.

Founded in 2023, we are built by Kakuma, for Kakuma – a platform where refugees share their experiences, access opportunities, and connect with each other and the world.

The Problem We Address

Kakuma Refugee Camp faces significant challenges that limit refugees' ability to thrive:

• Limited access to information – Refugees struggle to find reliable updates about NGO activities, job opportunities, and available resources.

• Lack of voice – Refugee stories are often told by others, not by refugees themselves.

• Economic barriers – Limited access to online work, freelancing opportunities, and skills development.

• Information gap – NGOs and community members lack a centralized platform for communication and coordination.

Kakuma Blogging was created to solve these challenges – all in one platform.

To empower refugees in Kakuma Refugee Camp by providing access to online opportunities, digital skills training, and a platform for storytelling, while fostering community engagement, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods.
