Job Vacancy: Communication Officer
Organization: Refugee and Host Resilience (REHORI)
Location: REHORI Office, Kakuma, Kenya
Employment Type: Full-Time
Contract Duration: Seven (7) months, with the possibility of renewal based on funding availability
and satisfactory performance.
About REHORI
The Refugee and Host Resilience (REHORI) is dedicated to empowering refugees and host
communities through sustainable programs in protection, education, livelihoods and community
resilience.
Position Summary
REHORI is seeking a qualified and motivated Communication Officer to lead the
organization’s internal and external communications. The successful candidate will be
responsible for developing communication materials, managing digital platforms,
documenting project activities, and strengthening the organization’s visibility.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement communication strategies.
• Create high-quality content for social media, newsletters, reports, and the website.
• Capture photos, videos, and success stories from project activities.
• Design communication and visibility materials, including posters, brochures, and
banners.
• Manage the organization’s social media platforms and website.
• Support documentation of project achievements and donor visibility requirements.
• Prepare press releases and coordinate media engagements when required.
• Ensure branding guidelines are consistently applied across all communication
materials.
• Work closely with project teams to document lessons learned and impact stories.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations,
Media Studies, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design
software.
• Experience managing social media platforms and websites.
• Strong photography and videography skills are an added advantage.
Skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creativity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and reporting skills.
